Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abul Gheit met with Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio (Lula) da Silva Wednesday and discussed the Middle East situation. Brazil’s Minister of External Relations Celso Amorim also participated in the discussion.
Amorim reiterated that peace in the Middle East could only be reached if a Palestinian state will be established. He called upon Israel to cease construction within Judea and Samaria. In the coming weeks, Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is expected to visit Brazil.
