Authorities say they have dismantled a scheme for American visas in Brazil that raked in about $53 million from 4,500 victims since 2002. Eleven suspects were arrested in four Brazilian states. The United States Consulate in São Paulo says Brazilians paid up to $15,000 each for temporary American work visas. The consulate said it was one of the largest cases of United States visa fraud ever. It did not say whether any victims received visas.
