BB Nossa Caixa returned to its position as the fund manager with the highest net inflow of investment funds in February, widening the gap in terms of its number one ranking in the management of these funds in the country. The figures were released by Andima (The Brazilian Association of Open Market Institutions).
With a net capital inflow of R$6.98 billion, BB Nossa Caixa ended February 2010 with assets under management totaling R$315.17 billion – way ahead of the number two player in this segment, Itaú Unibanco, which closed the period raising an additional R$552.75 million and now has R$226.53 billion under management.
According to Andima’s ranking of fund managers, the 334 financial institutions and asset managers registered in the Brazilian market at the end of February managed a total of R$1.40 trillion, a figure that rises to R$1.45 trillion when including foundations, insurance companies and others.
