U.S. investors prefer Brazil firms among BRICs

U.S investors prefers to invest in Brazilian companies, than the others nations of the so called BRIC group, formed also by China, Russia and India, according to a survey by consultant group Financial Dynamics published Wednesday.

Almost 60% of investors ranked Brazil as their top investment preference, followed by 27% for China, 9% for India, and 6% for Russia, according to the survey.

The survey, which regards just investments via equities, compiled figures from 33 groups of investors, which included BlackRock Advisors; Franklin Templeton; and ING Investment Management Co.

“Our research shows that of the BRIC countries, American investors have a preference for Brazil and a positive impression of Brazilian companies,” said Gordon McCoun, Vice-Chairman of Financial Dynamics Americas. “Investors ranked Brazilian company fundamentals to be the most important driver of portfolio decisions,” he added.
