18 de abril de 2024The Brazilian government will extend tax cuts on computers and subsidies for a 44 billion reais ($25 billion) credit line by the National Development Bank for capital good purchases, O Estado de Sao Paulo reported, without saying where it obtained the information.
The cuts in the so-called Cofins and Pis welfare taxes will be extended by as many as four years for companies that increase their spending on research and development to 3 percent of annual sales from 2 percent, the Sao Paulo-based newspaper said.
The subsidized credit line allowing companies to invest in capital goods and technological innovation will be extended by six months to June 30, 2010, the newspaper said.
Finance Minister Guido Mantega will announce the measures tomorrow, Estado. Calls to the ministry seeking comment before office hours were not returned.
