Foxconn Technology Group , maker of Apple Inc’s
iPhone and iPad, is looking at investment opportunities in
Brazil in line with its strategy of “being where the market
is”, it said in a statement from its listed unit Hon Hai Precision
Industry Co Ltd .
The
statement comes after Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff said on
Tuesday that Foxconn was considering investing $12 billion in Brazil.
“Brazil
is a country with rich natural resources, a vast consumer market and
tremendous economic development potential. It is also strategically
positioned to meet the needs of growing markets throughout Latin
America,” the statement said.
